The Bayou Chico Drawbridge is only drawbridge left in the Northwestern part of the State. Bayou Chico is the only commercial Bayou that can accomodate tugs and barges and small ships. The bridge opens for hundreds of tugs, barges, fishing and pleasure vessels each week. It will be torn down later in 1998 when the new highrise bridge is completed.
