Bayou Chico gets a new bridge! A 65 ft. clearance high-rise bridge is under construction in this 1997 photo. The old bridge will be removed and the bayou will flush better and the entrance will be safer for larger commercial vessels to come and go. The $27 million bridge is expected to be finished in late 1998 or early 1999.
